The safest bet for a special occasion or the “big day”, is at the 3-month mark in our experience. In a pinch, we recommend 1 month at minimum to alleviate any potential swelling or bruising. In the case of Botox, 4 weeks should be a good time frame to see optimal results. Often times we need to add more product or tweak certain aspects of the face; and the 1–3-month timeframe allows us ample time. Please contact us for a customized discussion and timeline.

You can purchase Arnica, a homeopathic remedy, for bruising and swelling. It may be used pre and post treatment. It comes in a topical (gel) and an oral form - both are sold at Whole Foods or purchased online (www.amazon.com).

“Don’t love it, don’t hate it for 2 weeks!” - as the two-week mark seems to be the magical time frame where the Botox is in full effect, and the dermal fillers have settled and look best. Dermal fillers are instant gratification; whereas, Botox takes about 3-7 days to start kicking in with the ultimate results seen in 14 days

Most of the dermal fillers we use are made out of hyaluronic acid and can be reversed and dissolved. In our experience, clients love the hydrated and natural results that hyaluronic acid provides, as it mimics our own natural collagen.

Hyaluronic acid is a gel like substance that is found in our body, mostly in our skin, connective tissue, and eyes. Hyaluronic acid is found in large quantities in our body when we are younger, and makes the skin look and feel more supple. Hyaluronic acid is essentially collagen, and the amount of naturally occurring hyaluronic acid in our bodies decreases as we get older. Dermal fillers contain Hyaluronic acid to hydrate, plump, and restore loss from aging, sunlight, high metabolism as well as other factors. Additionally, Hyaluronic acid reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

On average neurotoxins (Botox or Dysport) last about 3-4 months.  There are patients that may experience longer or shorter durations based on lifestyle choices (exercise), age, gender, certain medications, genetics and metabolism

Botox is approved for adults 18 years of age and older. Botox is a preventative measure that can drastically delay the aging process. The earlier you begin receiving Botox as a preventative measure, the more youthful you will appear long term. If you start Botox later on in life (mid 30s and 40’s), you may experience makeup or foundation in the “static lines” (creasing on your skin without any facial expressions), leading to an exaggerated aging appearance
